Hailey reached out this summer to do an anniversary session and I’m so glad she did! We ended up going to the Discovery Park bluffs in Seattle and ran around the fields until the sun went down. It feels like I’ve shot at Discovery Park 100 times at this point, so with Hailey and Nick I decided to change it up and go to some nooks of the park I haven’t spent much time in. And I am stoked we did because we found this beautiful little purple flower patch and it felt like we had the whole field to ourselves.
Shooting at the same place over and over again can seem repetitive, but I think there are a few ways it can challenge you. First, you can really see it change through the seasons. For example, these were taken in August and the flowers are out, it’s a little dead but still tall grass. Also, you are able to get a little more creative because you know the place so well. Get out of your comfort zone! Lastly, (for Discovery Park specifically) it is right in Seattle so it’s a great option when your clients can’t travel too far.
