Lake Sammamish – Zahli + Thijmen

Where do I even begin with this wedding?! I guess it all starts in 2018, Zahli and I met through some mutual friends in Georgia, then connected again through a camp we both worked at. We stayed in touch via instagram over the years, then bam — they asked me to do their engagement photos! The rest is basically history. They had tons of friends and family that traveled from all over the US for their backyard wedding in Washington. Also, it was the most rainy month, but somehow the wedding day was the first day above 70 degrees all month. SUCH A BLESSING!

The day started with wake-surfing on Lake Sammamish while the boys played flag football at the park nearby. The day felt so calm, relaxed and filled with joy. It was a very go with the flow kind of day. For example, right before the first look, two random guys in an old vintage boat pulled up and asked if we wanted to take pictures in the boat. Of course we said yes! We had a delicious sushi bar for dinner under the tent with the most perfect weather. In the middle of the reception, the bride and groom hopped on a jet ski and rode around with the most beautiful sunset. Around the bend, they saw Mt.Rainier just glowing off the sunset. Then we all danced the night away with banger after banger. Zahli and Thijmen ended the night leaving with a grand boat exit. It was a magical, sweet night that I could relive again and again.
